Our sincere thanks go to Cheryl for arranging such a nice evening at the Tradewinds Grill and for having Todd Howell from WBIR, Channel 10 as our guest speaker! There were 50 folks in attendance, one of our best evenings. Todd did an excellent job of giving us some feel for why our weather in "The Valley" is so weird and also what to watch out for depending on the direction the weather is coming from. Yes, it does sometimes come from the East! When it does, look for some safe shelter. It was a nice evening for members and guests to get together and do a little socializing close up (not just looking at each other across the water!)
< Our thanks to Cheryl Hering for a very nice evening!
< The crowd begins to swell.
< Sam and Mary Lois McCroskey, and Mike McCormack enjoy some pre-dinner chat over wine.
< Dona McEvers and Janet Bray having a "high level" pre-dinner discussion?
< Todd Howell explaining the effect the plateau has on the weather we see in here in the valley.
< Sometimes the weather may sweep directly up the valley and produce some severe weather.
< Larry Campbell relating a weather experience to Todd Howell and John Hering.
< Larry administering the USPS pledge to new members Rodney Alexander and Sam McCrosky.
< Rodney and Sam pointing out that they finally have a place to put all those course completion stamps!
