Why you should join USPS / KPS:

Membership in the USPS/KPS can be a very rewarding experience.  There are a variety of in-depth courses geared to improve your boating knowledge and skills.  These courses are only available to members.  Taking a course with fellow members gives you an opportunity to not only learn from the instructor, but also to learn from the experiences of fellow boaters.  As a member you may participate in the district and national meetings to learn from people in other areas.

Some of the more specific benefits and opportunities afforded members of USPS / KPS include:

  • Opportunity to have more fun on the water
  • Opportunity to make lasting friendships
  • Opportunity to take advanced education course in safe boating
  • Opportunity to socialize and travel with other experienced boaters
  • Opportunity to participate in civic activities/duties in your community
  • Opportunity to save 50% of Boat U.S. Membership fees subscription and more
  • Opportunity to receive discounted boat insurance.

Ok, I want to become a member of the United States Power Squadron!  What are requirements for membership eligibility?

  • Membership in the United States Power Squadron is open to applicants who have successfully completed the USPS Boat Smart course (copy of certificate / wallet card) or other acceptable boating education programs as outlined on the back of the membership application ("See How do I get an application?" below).
  • Here is a link to information on the new America's Boating Course 3rd edition, with detailed information on our entry course.  It's a great first start, and gives you entry to a great organization of which you can be proud of membership in.  ABC3 link hand01_next.gif
