Education is a cornerstone of USPS and to this end we offer a variety of educational courses:

The America's Boating Course 3rd Edition - This is our introductory boating safety course for the general public. This course is a formal introduction to boating and boating safety and is beneficial to folks planning on buying their first boat, those who already own a boat and would like to feel more comfortable on the water, and even to those "old hands" who have never had formal training in boat handling and boat safety. Public Seminars - USPS has a series of short seminars covering specific topics of interest to boaters. Some of the topics that are available now cover GPS, chart reading, VHF radio usage (including the Digital Selective Calling feature found on all new radios), and on-board weather forecasting. These seminars will be taught in a single two & one half hour class. A student note book is included, along with a take-away guide or other items that are useful on your boat. Member Courses - Once you have successfully completed the ABC3 course, you are eligible to become a member of KPS. Membership allows you to pursue additional and more detailed courses aimed at making you a more well rounded boater. [ KPS Member Course Details ]
